ABOUT THE PROJECT
"Montevideo, God Bless You” is a project in production of Intermedia Network unifying book, two feature films, TV series, documentary, monograph, exhibition and line of accompanying events. Two feature films and TV series are called "Montevideo, Taste of a Dream" (original title is "Montevideo, Bog te video").
The project "Montevideo, God Bless You” presents the way to celebrate 80 years of the First FIFA World Cup, and yet again, more than that: it has been eight decades since both Yugoslav and Serbian national football team made the best achievement at a championship – 3rd place at the FIFA World Cup in Montevideo, Uruguay, 1930.
The book “Montevideo, God Bless You!” of eminent sport journalist Vladimir Stankovic was the mode to create this project.
According to the author’s opinion, the significant events that had preceded the “football epopee”, and particularly a world promotion of “a small Balkans nation with great martial tradition”, should remove the dust of oblivion and presented the event rightly to the next generations.
The TV series, feature film, exhibition, monograph, documentary film and accompanying promotional activities are, certainly, one of many ways to depict the glorious history, but also reanimate the national team “cult”, hymn, flag and coat of arms of our country through the prism of the “the most important unimportant thing in the world”.
