The book “Montevideo, God Bless You” written by eminent sport journalist Vladimir Stanković, serves as inspiration for the entire project and it consists of five chapters:
The Background covers the circumstances that led into the schism in the Yugoslav Football Association initiated by the moving of the headquarters from Zagreb to Belgrade, the outburst of tensions upon the event which resulted in a boycott; The Decision deals with the final agreement that only the Serbian clubs’ players would play at the Montevideo World Cup and with selection of players and trainings following the decision; The Voyage describes three days of adventures on train and ship, as well as the arrival in Montevideo; The Championship covers the World Cup, enthusiasm of our emigrants in South America and great victories effecting our public; the last one; The Return, describes thetriumphal welcome prepared by our citizens.
